Hello everyone. Today was a very subdued, and unusually quiet day in our household. After the tragedy of the school shootings yesterday, it was hard to even think about getting something done for Christmas. I did manage to get a couple treats done…chocolate nut fudge and peanut butter fudge. This recipe is so easy and is very quick to make….no thermometer needed, and it makes plenty to keep and to give away!
Need the recipe?? Here it is..
Butter a 10 X 14 pan.
3 Cups sugar
3/4 Cup margarine or butter (I use Imperial margarine)
2/3 Cup evaporated milk (5 1/3 oz. )
12 oz. chocolate chips (semi sweet )
7 oz. marshmallow crème
1 Cup chopped nuts (optional )
1 teas. vanilla
Combine sugar, margarine, and evaporated milk in a deep saucepan.
Bring to a furiously rolling boil ( doesn’t stop boiling if stirred )…stirring constantly.
Boil 5 minutes over medium heat. remove from heat. Add chips, crème, nuts, and vanilla.
Beat with a spoon until combined well. Pour into buttered 10 X 14 pan. Cut into squares when cooled.
Want peanut butter fudge?? Just substitute peanut butter chips for the chocolate, and I always add a heaping big spoonful of peanut butter when I add the chips.
Yum! Remember to set a timer to time the 5 minutes!
This can also be poured directly into small foil loaf pans and wrapped up for gifts. Have a peaceful night—-Jan
