Merriment 15——O Christmas Tree…….

Today was spent packing up special orders and three boxes were shipped with more to go tomorrow.  Generally, we are done every season by the 14th of December—this year may be a few days longer. I am feeling the pressure more this year than usual because of our heavy show schedule this year ,  the stress over Brian’s health , and because we simply produced a LOT more this year in product…I badly need some time totally away from painting. It’s probably not a good thing when you feel like crying when you see a stack of wood to be painted. Soooooo…..after Al ran out to ship, I took a break…and finished the family room tree. The last couple years I didn’t get it done until the week of Christmas!  Despite the work, I’m always happy when I see it lit up. This tree is covered with the treasured ornaments that have been collected over the years…nothing monetarily valuable, but valuable to my heart!  Popsicle stick ornaments made by little boy hands, ornaments bought at the Elementary school Christmas shoppe.  You know the ones…the I love mommy and daddy ones. 🙂  I love just sitting quietly watching TV in the glow of the tree and often put off taking it down until mid January. There is a gentle Merriment to the tree and enjoying it when “all is calm, all is bright! “….

Make sure to take time for yourself this season……….Jan

I love looking at the lights of the trees when all is quiet too. It is just so peaceful. Hopefully you can take a rest, Brian’s health will continue to improve, and life will be good. I love your fireplace and the tree. I hope the house I buy has a fire place and I would like to have a red brick wall. Merry Merriment

Beautiful tree Jan. You have the kidn of tree we do. There are some popcicle sticks in it too:) Every ornament has some story and special place in my heart. I am glad you took some time for yourself to do the tree. Hopefully this next week you can have a vacation and enjoy the Holidays.

    Hi Jan,
What a beautiful photo…I clicked on it to make it larger and I saw all the lovely ornaments – how fun to unpack them every year.

I so feel your need to cry when the pressure of finishing up orders hits you. I can not tell you how good I feel this year having things wrapped up by the end of Nov. I hope you get some down time soon.

Thanks for your sweet kind comment on my blog – I haven’t been replying like I should.

Wonderfully merry tree Jan…. Ahhh….we have yet to get ours up…ummm…ok, GET a tree. It’s been a stressful year. Trying to sneak some merry in where I can. Funny, my son never made any handmade ornies…I have a few decorations (like handprints, a few snowmen, etc.), but they never made ornies in school and such….What treasures you have there…..Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
