Merriment Chain 9—change of plans

Hi everyone!   Today was a frustrating day.  We loaded up the rest of our product, except folk art, and trekked to the store we sell in. After unloading, it was off for lumber….after FINALLY picking out some great wood for my custom orders we zoomed over to the store saw…only to find it out of order. Uncut, the wood won’t fit into our van. Sad smile  Soooooo…tomorrow we are off to another lumberyard to do it all over again!  I really need to get these orders done so the Merry can begin.  I did putter around in the family room….the santa crock was painted by a fellow crafter, the gingers by a faux food crafter, and the hammered aluminum tray was handcrafted at Wendell August Forge in our area. It is engraved with an Amish farm scene. It was gifted to me by our neighbor at our last home. We had just sold our house but I took time to stencil the walls for her in her newly remodeled family room before we moved out. We still see each other occasionally in town.  Tonight I am baking ornamental gingerbread cookies—thanks Sheila for the recipe!  Al was all excited because I made cookie dough…  Winking smile     Haha!

Love the shelf full of goodies. Sorry about the saw. There was a reason behind it, don’t you think? BTW that redware plate is awesome!

    Hi Jan
Was wondering what store your thigs are in. I am up your way for the remainder of the week for and would sneak out to take a look. I still need snow pictures to replace the fall ones. My email is luv2quiltrmc@yahoo.com if you want to privately email me. I stopped at Kraynacks today hoping they would have my brown string lights and they did. They are really hard to find. Bought a few neat silicone molds for soaps there too. Can’t wait to try them out.
    Happy baking
    Rhonda

Hi Jan, I hope you have more luck today!! I don’t need your box of snow anymore ;-), we’ll have plenty tomorrow. And ‘plenty’ = only 4 inches. Lots of accidents and traffic jams already. We’re not used to it.

Snowy greetings from Belgium, ho ho ho!

Bummer! It feels like time is always against us this time of year with so much to do!
I love the display – all of it and the people who gave you these gifts make it special!
