Busy day, new adventure, back to work

Hi everyone! Today was a busy day. Besides painting full time for my shows, we also do freelance painting for a wholesaler. I was so excited when Shiela of Seasons of thy Heart posted a photo of a pumpkin plate on her blog a while ago. Yep! It was mine and the first time I saw it on the net. Today I delivered a batch of Photo frames I painted and hopefully they will make the cut.(although they are more wedding style frames-not prim)

I am also hoping to have my artwork published and today took the first steps to connect with a publishing company. They handle a lot of the big time artists that you will see in prim stores(greeting cards, calendars, etc. ) I reserved 5 paintings to submit for consideration. It will be a big step if we are accepted. Cross your fingers!!

Other than that, it is finally time to get back to my daily schedule. We picked up lumber today and will start marking it and painting tomorrow. Most of my folk art is painted on wood and highly distressed to look old. It is a labor intensive process but works well.I need to get my blog “pretty primmed “ up so I can begin to post photos for you to see. The paintings I am known for are all one-of-a-kind,signed,and dated.

I can’t wait til my blog is fully set up—got my first comment today from Patti—thanks sooooo much!  My son is setting up the blog and right now has his hands full at work. So, if you ARE reading my blog—please be patient—-it WILL be prim, it WILL have photos, and I’ll do my best to make it interesting for you all!!  I’ve been reading all your blogs for so long I feel I already know YOU—now I have to let you know ME!!!

prim blessings, Jan

Hi Jan! SO glad I found you! I see that you left a comment on my blog and follow it now, thanks so much! How exciting to be starting a new blog! If you have any questions, I will do my best to help you. I learned everything by trial and error, playing around.

How exciting that you are trying to get your artwork published!! We could always use some more prim artists out there. I get so excited when I go in a gift shop and actually see prim things from those awesome prim artists!

Sheila is wonderful, love her and her blog. I’m excited to meet you and looking forward to following along on your blog! I can’t follow it, but I am going to add it to my Google Reader so I can keep up with your posts. When you get it set up more, I will be back to follow.

Oh, and thank you for your tip on my blog about the sawdust and quilted blocks. I was actually trying to think of something that I could line them with and then use the sawdust. So I think I will use the old rags like you said and kinda put some sawdust in between. That way it won’t be touching the old quilt fabric. Good choice, thank you!!

Have a delightful week, my new friend! =]
